Founded in 1999 by musical director and trumpeter Cindy Shea, Mariachi Divas is an all-female ensemble that has won two GRAMMY Awards and earned eight GRAMMY nominations and three Latin GRAMMY nominations. As a successful band leader, musical director, teacher, record company owner, music publishing company owner, and recording studio owner, Cindy Shea has followed her dream of building a premiere mariachi group which has provided performing, teaching, touring, and recording opportunities to countless women over the years, launching careers, and expanding the scope of the mariachi tradition at large. For twenty years, Mariachi Divas has performed at the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, performing year-round at Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, and Downtown Disney in Anaheim, California. Mariachi Divas are often sought after to appear in various television, film, and music video projects. Cindy’s early life inspires Puro 80’s Ama Tu Vida, “this album feels like my childhood. It feels inspiring to hear these songs, most especially recreated with lyrics in Spanish but with a twist of the original lyrics. I think what I love the most is to see the young generation of Divas now falling in love with the music the way I personally did 40 years ago.”

 Puro 80’s Ama Tu Vida is the fifth album to be recorded in Cindy’s recording studio, 7th Avenue Studios, and is distributed by East Side Records. The songs are arranged by Rene Mejia, Cindy Shea, and Oscar Villa, and the instrumental arrangement is arranged by Rene Mejia, Cindy Shea, Oscar Villa, Edgar Cortazar, Mark Portman, Salvador Sandoval, and Rocio Marron. The album was produced by Cindy Shea, Oscar Villa, and Edgar Cortazar and was engineered by Salvador Sandoval, Oscar Villa, and Alexandro Carballo.
